Back from Vacation

Originally from N.A.D.S. "Every once in a while a Disasterologist has to take a break from all the disastering. I took some time off over the holiday. My family went to the country and just disapeared for about ten days, my brother and his family came to "The Propery" to visit and blow off some steam as well. It was great! As soon as I have my internet back (functioning) I will post some pictures here (I am posting from work). WildBill and I came home with Poison Ivy, and I also got a sunburn on the first day. We got the tractor and brush-hog hooked up and mowed a go-cart track, the kids went fishing, and we shot up some expired canned food. Redneck Vacation!" Sorry I didn't have any plaid on, I was trying to get some sun!
****UPDATE**** I guess I never really came back from vacation. Right afterwards is when we started the Red Dirt Wranglers Club, a non-profit organization for our kids to continue the riding program that CampFire HOC disolved so we would just go away. We have been volunteering at a horse rescue in Luther, Ok and I started another college class on top of working full time. I am exhusted and just don't feel much like posting, sorry. maybe after the first of the year I will be more in the mood. BigMike

Nude Plaid Painted PETA Protestors (pictures)

Good Lord, if these nude plaid painted women weren't PETA protesters they would be a plaidiphiliacs dream.

PETA Holds Naked Protest In SF Over Fur Coats

Activist Group Members Wear Nothing But Fake Blood

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Wearing nothing but spatters of fake blood laid out in plaid pattern on their bodies, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, protested the British luxury fashion house Burberry on Friday near San Francisco's Union Square.

The women held posters up against their bodies that read "When Plaid Goes Bad" next to Burberry store at 225 Post St.

Burberry manufactures clothing and other apparel. The distinctive plaid-like check pattern found on many of the company's products has become a trademark. (link)

These protesters are crazy! Plaid NEVER goes bad! I'll tell you what, there is nothing better than a hot naked lady covered in plaid body paint. Except if she is a member of PETA.

Why do all the painted plaid chicks have to be crazy PETA screech-bats?

Plaidiphilia Family - Big Mike, Dad, and Wild Bill

Wild Bill sent me this message from The Denver Post that foretold of upcoming plaid fashions this fall. Plaid never goes out of style in my wardrobe, I have always loved plaid. My dad used to wear flannel plaid shirts all the time (sometimes they were western shirts) and I always thought they were cool and by the time I was big enough to wear them (in high school) 'grunge' was the new fashion. I am sure I can find a picture to go with this somewhere.
**UPDATE** thats BigMike in the blue and WildBill in the red, and Dad with the side-burns! Check out my patch, Argh!

Back to the Motherland!

Last summer the kids and I went to Scotland to visit. It was a stark change from Oklahoma, we had never been out of the US before. We stayed in Glasgow (arriving in the same airport that they drove the Jeep into and firebombed) and met some wonderful people, viewed beautiful country side and took in an exciting culture. During the time we were there the sun did not go down, at 2am it was as bright as 8pm or 7am, it was hard to get used to. One of the locals said they have tee times at midnite and later! We visited Edinburgh and the Isle of Arran. Get into your heritage and get your plaid on!
